Katsuren, Okinawa

Katsuren (勝連町 Katsuren-chō?) was a town located in Nakagami District, Okinawa, Japan.

On April 1, 2005 Katsuren was merged with the town of Yonashiro, also from Nakagami District, and the old cities of Gushikawa and Ishikawa, to form the new city of Uruma.

As of 2003, the town had an estimated population of 13,530 and a total area of 13.71 km², with a density of 986.87 persons per km².

Katsuren is home to the castle Katsuren gusuku.
